Mommy & her boys; 1st day of school 2013
Noah age 5 (Kindergarten!)
Jackson age 2 3/4 (Preschool)

How's this for the TRUE picture of what it is like getting kids ready for the 1st day of school?!? Gotta love it!

Here is Mommy trying to bribe Noah to smile at the camera! I think it was something about going to the toy store after school.

Bribe worked! Here Noah is trying to humor his nutty mama.

Jackson's Easter Party at Oak Hill Montessori

Today I celebrated with Jackson as his class had an Easter party! Jax did a GREAT job! He didn't cling to me the whole time or sob, so that was progress! Jax is not a group party kinda guy, much like his daddy.  He looked so cute in his little seer-sucker suit Mommy bought for him.  And while the rest of the kids were going ninety to nothing hunting eggs, my Jackson found a few trains in the classroom and just brought them outside and played with them on the sidewalk while everybody else scoured for eggs! It was so cute to watch! He eventually opened an egg or 2 and had more fun counting the eggs and opening them than eating any candy. Unlike me, Jax is not a chocolate lover.  Then the kiddos went inside for a little party.  Of course, he ended up coming home with me...as is the general way it goes after I come to one of his parties! I love that I'm a part of his school and special days!
Love you Jax!

Jackson at school

One of the things I love about the boys' school is that they send me pictures of them working in class! Jackson has blossomed at school and I couldn't be more pleased with his teachers! Here are a few pictures the teacher sent of my Jackson. Heart.

Christmas Party at Oak Hill Montessori School

Christmas party at Oak Hill Montessori School.
For Noah's Christmas party, we decorated cookies, sang songs (they sang jingle bells as a surprise to the parents with bells and all!), saw Santa, and decorated cookies! I LOVE his school, and I'm so glad God put us JUST where we needed our children to grow and develop FULLY!
Merry Christmas to our Oak Hill Montessori family!

Thanksgiving FEAST at Oak Hill Montessori 2012

Feast at Oak Hill Montessori School- November 2012- Noah (4), Jackson (2)
Mommy & Daddy joined the boys for their Thanksgiving feast before their Thanksgiving break.  I must say...I've been so pleased with this school & how well the boys are both doing, as well the ways that their differences are celebrated.  I fell in love with these crazy cakes that looked like cooked turkey...but it was cake! So, I got one for Noah's class and one for Jackson's class...and they were a big hit! Go unconventional mom.  I'm so glad that we always take time out of our schedules to be at the boys' events at school.  This is the stuff that matters.
Happy Turkey Day!

Jackson's 1st Day of School

Jackson's 1st Day of School at Oak Hill Montessori School (Age 21 Months)
Jackson would not humor Mommy for pictures on his 1st day of school.  But we did manage to get some pictures of us all together on his first day. And getting him into school was a family affair, indeed, so it seems fitting! I was so proud to see my "baby" boy walk into school (after Daddy 1st carried him in).  As you can see, he did not enter into hysterics immediately upon entering school. Progress. This is good! Much better than meet-the teacher. Although he did cry for a bit when we first left school, HE STAYED AT SCHOOL ALL DAY!!! I kept calling the school...asking if I needed to pick him up. I told them I'd work him into going a full day (8 am-3 pm) if that's what we needed to do.  But my little guy did GREAT! Resilient as ever! He even NAPPED AT SCHOOL!!! (Again, something I didn't think was going to happen on the 1st day...thought we'd have to ease into it.) His teachers did great at comforting us BOTH! SO PROUD of my youngest son.  I know that this is the RIGHT choice for him and for our family.  From now on, my work day ENDS when I pick up my sweet angels. It's a win-win for our family.  And THAT is what matters most!
