Sick babes & Jackson's First Cake

Our poor little guys...Noah had pink eye for a week. THEN, it went to the other eye. THEN, it went to Jackson. NOW, Mommy & the boys have it! YIKES. YUCK! So, we decided to stay in quarentine and eat cake! No birthday, no holiday...just cake on Friday night because life is short! It was Jackson's first cake, and, although he was tired, he enjoyed several bites before he went down for the night. Here's to cake night!

Ayy Ayy, Captain Daddy!

Noah is definitely my outspoken, Mr. Enthisiasm kid. Everything is over the TOP! (Don't have any idea where he gets that trait:) Anyway, yesterday, we decided to get ready to go to pick up our "chips & cheese," from Mercados, and Michael asked Noah if he was ready to go. Noah responded, "Ayy Ayy, Captain Daddy! Right away!"
What a silly boy! I love his little sayings!

Jackson's 1st Tooth!

Little did I know that when I took Jackson's toothless picture this morning, that later this evening, his first tooth would appear! Wow! Miss a moment, you miss a lot in this place! I didn't even see his little bottom right (looking at him, left) tooth pop up, but when he was chewing on my finger, I felt a tooth! My little baby is growing so fast. First tooth! Incredible. You can't really see his little tooth in these pictures, except in the last picture...and you have to look really hard to see it poking through, but it's there. Barely there, but there nonetheless!

Jackson's last picture as a 10 month, toothless babe

I took these pictures this morning, because I just knew that in the next day or two, my sweet baby's teeth would be popping in. Here is his toothless grin at breakfast this morning. Everyone that meets him comments about how is such a sweet soul. So very true. Love you, precious baby of mine!

A rough weekend

Jackson is 10 months old & STILL doesn't have any teeth! We saw Dr. Austin Friday & he said he thought Jackson's teeth were going to pop up any day. He said he would have 4 at once! Then Jackson had shots. The result? Teething baby with fever. Noah has pink eye. And Michael is out if commission from digging LAST weekend! His back is seriously causing him major pain. No sleep for mama. Poor Jackson's little gums are just swollen & hurting. Poor sweet baby. Poor all my babies. What a rough weekend!

Jammied Up

Noah's enthusiasm for life always cracks me up! The other night, after a 16-hour workday, after I got my hugs and kisses from my boys, I went to my bedroom and pulled out my old, cozy flannel pajamas. No, it wasn't a sexy look! But it didn't matter. Noah loved it! He said, "Oh Mommy, look at you! You got all dressed up!" I told him that I was wearing my jammies, not dressed up clothes. He said, "Oh, you got jammied up! I love jammied up!"

Mulch diggin'

Noah loves his Daddy. He had the greatest time "mulch diggin" with Daddy this weekend. He actually was able to use his little shovel to get some actual mulch in the flower bed. I had such a good time watching him help Daddy. "Shew! This is hard work, Mommy!"

Noah's NASA soup

I brought Noah this NASA Astronaut suit from the Smithsonian. It's funny, because he pronounces suit, "soup." he said, "Mommy, I want to put my soup on." Cutest astronaut ever!

Jackson walks with help

This picture is blurry, but I was taking video. Yesterday, out of the blue, Jackson began pushing this toy all over the house. He went all over the place!! We just watched in amazement as our 10 month old...who still doesn't even have any teeth...was "walking" around the house!! Noah was so sweet & supportive. He clapped for Jackson and said, "Yay, Baby!" My, how time flies!

Washington D.C. trip with Drug Court Team

I have been so blessed to be a part of Judge Clark's Drug Court team. She has provided me with opportunities that I never dreamed of! It's honestly the most rewarding work I've ever done! She brought me to Washington D.C. with her and some other team members for the national drug court conference. What an opportunity! She arranged for Congressman Gohmert to take us on a private tour of the capitol. I think that was my favorite experience. We were given access to places in the capitol that is closed to the public. And Louie was SO NICE and spent four hours telling us stories that only a congressman would know. It was just amazing! I also got to see Dorothy's ruby red slippers and Michelle Obama's Inaugural gown, which was a real treat! I roomed with Judge Clark and really enjoyed getting to know her better. It was an awesome time! Of course, it wouldn't be traveling unless I have to pump! I had the lovely experience of pumping on an airplane. I swear, there is just no dignity left when you have to tell the Judge, an attorney, and the head of CPS...excuse me...I have to go pump my milk because my boobs are exploding! Thank goodness they were so understanding! Oh, the things mothers do for their children!

A note from Mommy

I'm sitting in the Tyler Airport awaiting a flight to DFW that will eventually lead us (Judge Clark & our Drug Court Team) to Washington D.C. for a conference. My computer has been broken, so I haven't been able to post to my blog. I've got lots of post drafts saved though! I just wanted to remind ALL my boys how VERY much I love them. I love you Michael. I love you, Noah. I love you, Jackson. know that you all are my heart. Missing you already!

Cousins Bubble Bath Fun

After Nicholas' 4th birthday party wrapped up, Noah, Nick Nick, Jackson, & Ella jumped in the tub for a much needed bubble bath clean up! BIG FUN!

Happy 4th Birthday Nicholas

Happy 4th Birthday Nick Nick! Fun Times for ALL! It's always special when we all get together to celebrate a family member's birthday. Even more fun when pinatas are involved! Noah was so funny---after the pinata was busted open, he ONLY picked up the chocolate candy! He left the rest of the candy for the other kids, but he took a handful of chocolate! Grampa laughed and laughed! He couldn't believe that Noah did that! That's my boy! What can I say? The kid has great taste!

Nicholas' 4th Birthday Party

Happy 4th Birthday, Nicholas! We celebrated his special 4th birthday with a rocket party! Grampa, Oma, and all our cousins were there! It was a big, big time! Happy 4th, Nick Nick!

Adventures in Cake Pops

I attempted my 1st batch of cake pops for Nicholas' 4th birthday party. Although I had NO CLUE what I was doing, I thought they turned out pretty well. Susie & the kids thought they were fun, which is what counts!

Noah's 1st Day of Preschool Fall 2011

Noah's 1st day of preschool at Oak Tree Academy 2011~ Noah turned in his first "homework," which was an "All About Me" collage. Noah was so excited to go to school, and had NO problems getting acquainted with his friends and classroom. I brought Noah's class cupcakes for a first-day-of-school treat. We had fun getting to know our new friends while having lunch and red cupcake dessert. Miss Denise said that he did great his first day. It's hard to believe that my oldest son is starting his first full year at preschool. Here's to a great year!
