Noah's 4th of July Picture 2012

Here's the little card Rose Bailey made for Noah's 4th of July 2012.  We literally didn't get ONE single picture of Jackson that day, because he would not let me put him down without shedding buckets of tears! So, we thought we'd reschedule Jackson's pictures, but he was sick the day we tried to reschedule. So, we didn't get Jackson's pictures done.  Sorry Jackson. It's not because we didn't try! Sometimes life throws us a curve ball!
Happy 4th of July!

Guest bed makeover

I recently have been on a new bedding kick. Here's what I came up with for one of the guest bedrooms. From West Elm...a Potterybarn/Williams Sonoma company. So soft & cozy, reasonably priced, & all machine washable. Just change up duvets & shams with the seasons. I like this for summer. Score!

Painting with shaving cream

We've had a rough week at our castle.  Noah literally made it 20 minutes at a friend's birthday party last Saturday before he began barfing...and barfing...and barfing...with fever.  For days.  Then Jackson got it....Now Daddy has it.  Can you say no sleep?
On the brighter side, because we couldn't go outside with our hot fevers, I did a little craft I saw on Pinterest. It literally took 5 minutes to make and was FUN! Get a muffin pan! Fill it with shaving cream.  Add food coloring to the shaving cream and paint the bathtub away! They had so much fun....good sensory fun, too!

Happy 13th birthday, Sam!

When attending a conference in Fort Worth, I was lucky enough to be with Sam as he celebrated his 13th birthday! That doesn't seem possible! Love you, Samuel Keith Carlile!

Father's Day 2012

Father's Day 2012- Daddy with his boys: Noah (4) & Jackson (19 Months)
Daddy looks so tired because Noah was sick and Daddy "slept" (If you can call it that) in Noah's bed with Noah all night after Noah was sick. Now THAT is a good Daddy! We love you Daddy! Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day 2012

Father's Day 2012-
Noah was very sick and Jackson was just beginning to get sick.  The boys made Daddy a tree with their handprints (very reluctantly, but I hope to block that part of the project out and focus on the cute outcome).  I really don't think my sons could have a better father.  He is simply put...the BEST!  Ever present in their lives, emotionally connected, fun, caring...and the best role model they could hope for.  Happy Father's Day!

Shoulder Rides

Noah & Jackson both love it when Noah gives Jackson shoulder rides.  Of course, Daddy or Mommy have to spot, but they are hilarious to watch! My boys are best of friends:)

Train tracks

Noah has become re-obsessed with trains. But I must say...I do adore watching him  Jackson chug along around their track...which, clearly is everywhere! And might I add..their daddy can build some serious track!!

Visit from Shawn & Amy

Our dear friends, Shawn & Amy, came for a visit before they move off to Oregon for their new adventure! Noah & Shawn, who Noah calls "Shawn-E," have a very special relationship. We swam, celebrated Shawn-E's birthday with an ice cream cake, and went for a big pancake breakfast at Fresh before they left. We will miss you!

A "WINN"ing Friendship

Have you ever had something happen...meet someone...have an extraordinary experience...and just KNOW....deep down to your core...that something...or SOME ONE...in this case----is GOD Given?

Well, that's how I feel about my dear friend, Winn.  Winn is a psychologist, and might I say...the BEST I know...and we had the opportunity to meet when he spoke at a training provided through Judge Clark's court.  He spoke for about 30 seconds, before I instantly felt in my gut of guts...that we would one day be friends.  I didn't know that he would be the brother I never had, but God has a way of providing our "intentional family," as Winn would say.
And That He DID!
I have a bond and a connection with him that is real and profound.
And it's been there since day one.
Thank you God, for sending me the blessing of my brother, Winn.
My heart is full.

My mini-me, Noah

Noah is a ball of energy. He loves everyone & doing everything! (Such as dressing up at astronaut at 6 am on Saturday morning. It's never too early to play astronaut, right?) He continues to love trains, hide-n-seek, and anything outdoors.  He has an enthusiasm for life that is contagious.  Everyone that he meets just falls in love with him.  I hope he never loses his JOY!!!

Jackson

My precious Jackson just keeps getting more & more beautiful each day. He loves getting in Mommy & Daddy's snuggly bed with his family in the morning. He adores his brother and his daddy.  And he is a CLIMBER!  His favorite food is MILK...and ICE (specifically, Sonic ice) is a close second.  He is a lot slower to warm up to people than Noah is, but when he knows you...there's nothing like a Jackson smile.  He is love, my youngest son!
