My amazing sister, Susie

Today was a tough day in our castle. My pain was pretty unbearable, nausea returned...which is difficult to do if you can't bend over or move your neck lol...& no one slept. Just rough. So, Susie ride in to save the day. She made homemade food that I will actually eat, bathed and read to the boys, & provided some much needed laughs & comfort after a difficult day. I have the best family around. If there's a need, they fill it. My heart is full...as I am reminded that this, too, will pass ... And everything will be ok. I love you, Susie.

Grampa helps with bath time

I'm  not able to take pictures with my Canon camera, because it weighs more than I'm permitted to lift! Thank GOODNESS for the trusty iphone & Instagram! I snapped these cute pix of Grampa giving Jackson a bath this evening.  They are just precious, these two!

Reading time with Grampa

When Michael was putting Jackson to sleep tonight, Grampa took some time to read Noah a bed-time story.  There's something magical about watching your father read to your son.  It's almost like seeing a glimpse back in time when he'd read to me when I was a child.  I can't fully explain how dear he is to my heart...my sweet father.  He is my hero.  I simply adore him.  THESE are the moments to remember.

Visit from Grampa

Grampa & Oma came by today to help with the boys, since I'm not permitted to lift more than 8 ounces following my neck surgery.  They played trains, helped feed the boys, bathed the boys, gave Daddy time to pack lunches for tomorrow...and were just a big help in general! I've been in a lot of physical pain and have had difficulty with this transition as well.  There's just something reassuring about having your Daddy there to make life feel like it's going to be o.k.  He did just that.  Oh how I love him.  Thanks Dad. Thanks Grampa.  We ALL love you!

Surgery day

I'm at the 2nd top ranked hospital in the country...as today I have surgery on my neck. After several neurologist reviews, I know I have the best. I feel at peace & am hoping for a dafe surgery & quick recovery. Sweet Michael, Noah, and Jackson...know that you are my whole world and that I love you dearly. My dad, my sisters, my in-laws, my true friends...have been an amazing support. I love you all.

Jackson loves the rain

Today a HUGE storm came rolling through...and much to my surprise, Jackson was fascinated with the storm. O.k. It is now official. This kid is officially his daddy! I think Michael was a storm chaser in his past life. He loves watching the storms.  While Noah and I were alarmed and only briefly amused by the storming weather, Jackson was in a trance! He kept looking up, smiling, laughing outloud, and pointing at the storm.  It was hilarious to watch.  These are the things I'd forget about if I didn't write them down.  The  look on his face in these pictures is priceless!

Beautiful Jax in the Buff

Jackson~ 20 Months Old~
Is there anything cuter than a naked baby?  I think not.  My little Jackson just loves to be naked.  He also just loves to play hide-n-seek.  So what could be more fun than combining the two?  My favorite youngest son and I had a rare few minutes alone this week...and Jackson had a fun time running around in the buff.  I just LOVE that beautiful, beautiful bottom!!! Sweet, sweet, precious, precious boy!!! Mama loves you!

Noah's newest obsession

Noah has a new obsession.  It's Angry Birds.  He loves playing on my iPad & my iPhone, and Daddy finally got with the program and put the app on his phone.  We certainly don't let him play constantly, but it has been fun to watch him grow in learning how to navigate some of our technology.  He's going to be so ahead of us!  And I'm glad of that. We always want better for our kids.  Speaking of my kids...I just have to say...I'm just in LOVE with my children! Their kisses, hugs, and smiles are the most healing medicine I could ever need.

Noah's baby frog catch

Tonight while swimming, Noah caught a little baby frog that was swimming in the pool. Although I just snapped these pix with my phone, they still turned out so cute. I love the way Noah carefully holds & protects the baby frog. So sweet!  He's such an empathic little fella.  One of the many characteristics I love about my favorite oldest son.

Swim fun

-

The boys took an impromptuswim before bed. I love watching the boys have carefree fun. Michael is such an amazing father.  When I watch him swim in the water and play with the boys...I'm reminded how lucky I was to find such a wonderful man.  I honestly couldn't ask for a better father for my children.  They will be amazing men because of his love, time, and example.  Love all these boys!

Jackson

Jackson loves playing hide & seek and climbing on Daddy.  As soon as Daddy walks through the door, Jackson drops EVERYTHING and RUNS to Daddy's arms!  His laugh will melt your heart.  He has the sweetest disposition of any child I've ever met.  He is grace.  He reminds me so much of my mother.  He's SUCH a sweet boy.  Love him!
