Crafting, crafting, & more crafting is what it takes to put together a birthday party!  We had lots of Lego themed decorations at Noah's 6th, from balloons, to banners, to yard signs, & more.  I made a big 6 from recent pictures, which is always fun.  I put lego--looking blocks around a big picture frame that had Noah's picture in it.  Lego favor-bags and decorations were all about.  Everyone loved the decorations.  But I won't lie. It is a lot of work...especially the week prior to the party! But I always try to make the boys' parties special.

I really liked our photo booth area at Noah's 6th birthday.  I put it right on the back porch so folks had fun playing around for pictures.  Thank you Michael for humoring us!

I absolutely LOVED Noah's Lego cake. Village Bakery did a great job, as always. What I did NOT think of...until it was time to serve the cake...was that I'd basically be hacking into the Lego man's brains in order to serve cake!! I hope the children weren't traumatized. The kids actually thought it was quite funny, so Susie & I took turns hacking into poor Lego man's brains.  He was delicious!

I don't know what it is about looking at pictures of children blow out their birthday candles, but it always moves me.  I guess it is the tradition, the hope, the celebration, the family.  You're never too old to blow out a candle on a cake! Since Noah had traditional candles on his actual birthday, I used a sparkler candle on his cake for his birthday party. He really liked the sparkler candle last year, and I like it because, although you really can't "blow" it out...it takes pretty big puffs to try...which makes for great blowing-out-birthday-candles pictures.  Win. Win.

Noah's 6th Birthday Party

For Noah's 6th birthday Lego party, I was really worried that we'd have to spend the day indoors! We had ice and light snow earlier in the week! But luckily, we had low 50's for party day.  About the only thing we were inside for was the cake! Happy 6th birthday, Noah! Your whole family loves you!!

Noah had quite a fun dessert table at his 6th birthday. Of course, the Lego cake was awesome. He also had lego suckers, #6 suckers, #6 cookies, cupcakes, and rainbow Jello. Mommy also hand-wrapped Hershey's Miniatures in Lego wrappers, and bought special Lego candies! They were a big hit!
The funniest thing was that all the adults were quietly asking, "Are those Jello shots?"  Ha ha. I wish.  I could've used one, but no; they were alcohol-free!
