Notes from Noah

My Noah can be the sweetest, most sensitive kiddo. When I got up this morning, he brought me this note. "By Noah. Mommy I would never let you go."

Then he brings me a note he made for Annemarie. "By Noah. I would always protect Baby."

And then tonight, Daddy had to work late. Noah made mashed potatoes & thought Daddy would appreciate that. Daddy's note, "By Noah. I made mashed potatoes for you Daddy."

He is such a darling. Mommy would never let you go, either...sweet Noah!

Annemarie's 1st Visit with Santa

Jackson (4), Annemarie (2 months), & Noah (6 1/2)

Annemarie's 1st visit with Santa...she did GREAT!

Annemarie is simply the best.  This baby girl of mine and I share such a special bond...already...it is hard to explain.  I was fully prepared for her 1st picture with Santa to be one of a crying baby girl...especially since my precious Darlin' doesn't like to be held by anyone by her Mommy.  But she surprised me, and the Santa was really good.  We got up and off Santa's lap without a fuss or cry!
It's a Christmas Miracle!
She's just the best, this little 2 month-old darling of mine.

Pictures with Santa~ 2014

Noah has always done well with pictures with Santa.  Jax...not so much. Every year, we have pictures of Jackson crying with Santa...desperately trying to get OFF the white-bearded dude's lap.  Enter Annemarie.  Annemarie is the best little baby. I mean, she's perfect.  But there's one thing---she doesn't like to be held by anyone but Mommy!!   Even poor Daddy struggles to get her to stop crying when he holds her.  It'll get better. But right now, it is what it is.  Enter again the thought of giving a 10 week old baby who hates being held by anyone but Mommy to a stranger with a freaky white beard and funny clothes in a loud shopping mall.  It was, indeed, a recipe for disaster.  But that's the funny thing about life...sometimes things that we think should ABSOLUTELY  end in disaster...turn out just fine. Sometimes, they turn out better than fine.  Enter Christmas Pictures 2014.  NO DRAMA.  You read that correctly. Noah was perfect. Jackson was perfect. And Annemarie was perfect. No crying, wailing, or attempts to flee the building.  And just look at these pictures.  Priceless.
(Now don't mistakenly think the whole DAY was no drama....we had plenty of drama getting ready for school; plenty of drama getting ready to go SEE Santa...but the ACTUAL picture-taking part...drama free. We consider that a win.)

It's a Christmas miracle!!!

Uncle Buddy & Annemarie

We took a trip to Port Neches this weekend to visit Uncle Buddy. Annemarie is now well known for pretty much being a Mommy's girl. If someone else holds her (if she's not asleep) she'll fuss for Mommy before too long. But she snuggled up next to Uncle Buddy got about 45 minutes today. It was SO sweet to see! He said, "This is the best medicine I need." I'm so glad we made the trip!!
