18 1/2 weeks pregnant

Dear Baby-On-The-Way:
This is me at 18 weeks 4 days pregnant with baby #2. (That's YOU!) I'm NOT one of those people that enjoys being pregnant, but I felt your first kicks two days ago, and that was the best feeling ever! I love feeling you move and swim about. I'll be honest with you. I'm very uncomfortable physically with my body this big. And I know I'm just going to get bigger, but I know that when I hold you in my arms for the first time, and see your beautiful and perfect face, it will be well-worth it! I want to make sure that you, baby #2, had pictures of me showing that you were indeed in my belly at one time. That's the ONLY reason I'd take a picture looking like this! See, kid? You're already loved!
Love You Bunches Baby-On-The-Way!
XOXO,
Mommy

Fun Visit With The Carliles:)

The Carliles came for the weekend, and, as always, it's SOOO great to have them here. Sometimes when family visit, it's a chore, but not with this family. Everyone is genuinely happy to see one another, and pitches in to make it a wonderful time. Now THAT'S family! Sam just came back from his 1st week at Sky Ranch Camp, and is really growing up & becoming quite independent! Lucas is as sweet as ever, and was always sensitive to making sure Noah felt included (even when it wasn't always fun for Lucas to play with a two year old). Alice is a fashionista and quite the swimmer! She was swimming around the pool by herself & was taking BIG leaps into the pool. Michael made his traditional "Meat Fest," including pork ribs that he got from Country Tavern, hamburgers, fish, chicken, hotdogs, and bratwurst. Rebekah grilled fabulous veggies and after swimming we ate outside. Rebekah was ALSO a dear and stayed in the pool after Noah took off his diaper and swam in the pool au natural, as is his favorite way to swim. Noah would run out of the pool to the table where everyone was eating, grabbed a chip, and would run back. It was quite funny. He is a ham! Everyone was WORE OUT after all this fun in the sun.

Noah the Matilda Jane Model

This is funny. I woke up this morning with a text from Rose Bailey that said, "Your son MADE it to the Matilda Jane Website. I am sooooo excited." She mentioned that she sent them a picture she took at our last session, but I hadn't thought another thing about it. Anyway, I went to the Matilda Jane Website todayhttp://matildajaneblog.com/ and there was my Noah, 2nd picture on the page! Evidently, photographers from all over submit their photos, and the owner uses the ones she thinks are most adorable...and it just so happens to be my kid. O.k. Mommy bragging done. Of course, no one thinks he is cuter than his Mama. Check him out.

Swim Au Natural

After being cooped up ALL DAY yesterday, Noah was just itching to get outside. We went for a short walk which ended with him getting in the pool. The water was cold after all that rain, but Noah didn't seem to mind.
Love that bum

The Great Rain of June 2010

In the last 36 hours we have had a ton of rain---between 10-12 inches! Roads were closed and lots of places flooded. I'm glad that my husband built our house & built it UP! The lake behind our house got near the flooding over point, but our developer has a levy that he opened to let the water out so the lake didn't overflow! Backyard view from the 2nd story back porch.

We have a big drain pipe that goes flows into the lake below. The lake got so high that the lake water was baking up into our drain & caused this flooding. Thank goodness for sandy soil that will soak it up quickly!
