Gondola Rides

Jackson's favorite part of our trip to Beaver Creek was the Gondola! He loved riding in them over and over.  One afternoon, he and I must've gone around the gondola 15 times! He had fever and was misreable, and riding in the gondola was the only way I could sit down & keep him in a minimal fussing state.  Despite my fear of heights, I did fine on the gondolas. Now, the ski lift would have been another story---but we never even had the chance to use our ski lift tickets because of some other drama.  Oh well!

Veronica, the lifesaver

Thank goodness for Veronica!! She came with us on our ski vacation and was such a big help with the boys! She had no problem keeping Noah in line and even got Jackson to nap, which is no small task! I hope our trip didn't scare her off, because I'd love to bring her on another vacation in the near future! Watching her grow up from a young elementary student...to this mature, insightful young woman has been something to witness! What a blessing she has been to our family. We love you, Roni!

Colorado Rest Stop Fun!

Sad to say...but true to say...that the HIGHLIGHT of our Colorado trip was the REST STOP!!! NO LIE! But what a fun rest stop it was, ha ha! It was snowing, and there was a beautiful view of the mountains, and the ground was covered in fresh snow...perfect for snowball making. So, we just pulled over and made snowballs and ate snow! I filled up a Starbucks cup with snow on the way out, and Jax and I chomped on that for a while! I also took some rather funny pictures (which will not be posted, sorry...not that I'll ever run for office!) of me in the snow.  A few select folks have seen them:)
Rest stop fun 2013!

Travel from hell

It is 12:48 AM & my children are both awake, we've had a traveling day from hell...and we are not even on the way back from the airport yet!!
Travel. From. Hell.
If you think it is a good idea to travel to cold places with small children, heed my very stern warning. Don't do it!!!

On our way to the airport

We had just a few hours of sleep last night before getting up early to head out to the airport. Getting the boys to bed last night was a nightmare, but I'm so proud of how well they did this morning after awakened so early. Noah sprung right out of bed with no fussing when I told him it was time to get ready to go fly on the airplane. Poor Jax was difficult to wake up, but only briefly fussed. So I'm pleasantly surprised.
I'll be boarding the plane with my husband of 15 years (April 18th) & with the 2 boys for which my heart beats. Funny how at the end of the day (or in this case, the beginning) my whole world is actually made up of a rather small circle of dear ones. If you are reading this, know that you are clearly a part of that circle & that I love you dearly.

Flowering the cross

These pix are of Noah flowering the cross at my dad's church Easter Sunday 2013. My mom began this tradition years ago at our home church, Trinity Lutheran, in Commerce, Texas...many years ago.
I love our family's sense of tradition...and Easter Sunday is one if many family traditions in my family. And I must say, doesn't my Noah look dapper?!
