Christi's 40th Birthday Surprise Lunch

Today our friend, Christi, turned 40 years young! We surprised her with a birthday lunch at Juanitas. She was genuinely surprised & a good time was had by all. Noah did soooo good for having to sit still through lunch. All I can say, once again, is thank goodness for my iPhone & the wonderful apps! Everyone was cracking up that I could give Noah my phone & that he knew how to play the games. It kept him satisfied long enough for us to have lunch, so whatever works! Happy 40th Christi!
40 never looked so fabulous! Noah & friends at Christi's birthday lunch

I got Christi a mug that said, "I'm too sexy to be 40," a wine glass that said, "Men may come & go, but girlfriends are forever," and chocolate, of course!
We sure make it an effort to celebrate life! Why not? You only live once!!!

Nap take 2

After my previous note, I heard Noah saying, "MaaaaaaaaMa," so I got him out of the pack-n-play & tried to rock him and put him down for a nap again. I thought that surely his alone time would make getting snuggled from Mommy seem so much better. I was wrong. He started wretching & whacked me again! I put him back in his pack-n-play and walked out. 5 minutes later...he sleeps. Victory at last!

Rough day

Some days are great days....some days are rough days! Today would qualify as the latter. I've tried to do fun things but Noah has been getting exceedingly tired & began hitting me repeatedly when I tried to put him down for a nap. I will not allow hitting, so I put him in his pack-n-play for him to cool off or go to sleep in there. He has been jumping up & down..refusing to go down without a fight. He is such a strong-willed & determined little fellow... already. I wonder where he gets that. I'm watching him on our video monitor just laughing at his antics. I sent Michael a picture of Noah from the video monitor. I'm so glad I got up early & ran this morning because he is wearing me out! Gotta love that boy.

MUD RUN gear!

Today on my lunch break, I decided to visit the Army/Navy Store and check out the camo clothes for the mud run this Saturday. I wish I would've had a video camera, it was toooooo hilarious. I walked into the store with my 4 inch stilletto heels on, a satin pencil skirt and a silk blouse...not your typical attire for the Army/Navy Store, I gathered after I got some pretty funny looks from the staff and patrons in the store. I told the staff that I was running a mud run this weekend and was looking for some camo pants. All I can say is that Army clothes are big! The guy gave me a small & they literally fell off my butt...and I have a butt! So, we ended up trying on the kids clothes & eventually found some camo pants that fit. But then I found another pair in a different style. Hmmmmm...which camo pant was more fashionable, I asked the helper boys. They looked at me like I was certifiably crazy! We then discussed shoes and accessories and had a little show before I gathered my prizes for checkout. We decided on the classic camo pants, a black boot (boots that cover the ankle are required for the mud run) and a matching camo bandanna. Evidently, there's a newer style of camo, "mosaic," but the colors were dull and they required a brown boot...which, they didn't have in my size. Again, because Army clothes are so big, I ended up having to buy a children's size boot. The good news is that the children's clothes were cheaper.
EXCITING! My first time at the Army/Navy store was a blast! Who knew? I told them I'd send my friends there, so please visit! When I got home, my mailbox was stuffed and I discovered that our t-shirts & chip timers arrived, so we are ready to go! I was so excited! Noah & I danced and danced and played with our new camo clothes. It's definitely not my typical outfit, but so perfect for our run. Not that I've done it or have any idea what to expect! I took tonight for my free night, so up early tomorrow & Friday to train before the run on Sunday. Michael & Noah & I have been jogging at night (except tonight) so we should be able to do it without totally dying...hopefully! Noah checks out my new camo gear

Ready for Naptime

This was Noah yesterday getting ready for naptime. He was soooooo cute...brought his UT football with him to night night. SUCH a sweet boy. Of course, he also had his "pubba," which is what he calls his pacifier, and his favorite pillow. Some kids have a favorite blanket or a favorite stuffed animal. Not my Noah. But he sure does have a favorite pillow & a favorite ball! Oh, how I love & adore my little Noah angel!

Faulkner park

Noah was such a good sport this morning when we went to Hobby Lobby & Kohls. Christmas is coming up & I'm going to make Michael a UT tree. I think last year I had over 15 trees, so what's one more? Unfortunately, the UT NCAA licensed products are a total raquet, so I'm trying to buy a little bit at a time so by December, I'll actually have enough for a tree; a small tree, but a tree nonetheless! It'll make Michael happy. Noah was so good while running our errands. He'd tell everybody "hi" and "bye bye" and was just precious. I decided to treat him to some playtime at Faulkner Park followed by his 1st Milky Way candybar. He got good & tuckered out so hopefully he'll take a good nap this afternoon. The Texas fall weather is just perfect today!

Climbing...one of Noah's favorite things right now!

All composed on the wonderful iphone while at the park so that I could save time! Gotta love it!

First Day of November

It's now November. Where does the time go?!? Michael & I spent a good portion of the day cleaning up the piles of decorations from Halloween. Now the house looks boring. Last year I just skipped Thanksgiving decorations all together & went straight from Halloween to Christmas since we had a Christmas party the 1st weekend in December. I've got a few Thanksgiving things, but nothing exciting.

We had so much junk fook left over from the Halloween party, that we just grazed on all day long. I'm going to have to be strict on my diet this week & bust my butt in the workouts because I've got the mud run in less than a week. It should make for an interesting week!
Noah enjoys some of the leftover cake from the party. "Cake-uh"
This is our view of the lake this morning. I've been watching this lone Oak tree change faster than the other trees. That's steam coming off the water. We're so lucky to wake up to such a beautiful view.
