My Climbing Roses
I've felt some guilt some time now for not growing roses. I mean, I live in Tyler, the rose capitol of Texas. I've read that they're so much work, though, and very often get multiple diseases. But last year, I gave in & decided to give it a try. When I bought these roses they were about 3 ft. tall. Now they scale 8-10 feet...In just a year! I'm so proud---thought I better capture some photos before they get some fungus!
Climbing Pinkie- I have 2 of these...climbing up the columns on the back porch.
First Pictures Of Baby-On-The-Way
Today we went to the OBGYN to have our first sonogram of our precious little baby. Dr. Willis said everything looked "perfect." We took Noah and he was very well-behaved. Although by the time we had the ultrasound, he was pretty much unimpressed. That's o.k. Dr. Willis said that we're about a week ahead of where we thought we were. We are officially 11 weeks & 3 days...almost done with the 1st trimester. Baby-On-The-Way is due November 9, 2010. Susie's first-born, Matthew has a birthday on November 9, and Denise's third, James, has a birthday of November 10th, so I'm thinking that every weekend in November is automatically booked by the time we celebrate these birthdays & have Thanksgiving!
Pregnancy Test, $20. Payment toward deductible, $50. Seeing our first picture of our Baby-On-The-Way...PRICELESS!

Potty Update
We have exciting news to report on the potty front. Let's see. After the initial excitement of the potty, we got sick, Christmas came & went, and the potty got ignored. I asked Noah a couple of times if he wanted to pee pee on the potty and he'd scream, "No!" and run away. These are not things to force. Especially as a therapist, we learn more than I'd like to about pushing potty training too early. This is where words like "anal retentive" originate...potty training too early/stringently.
All to say, just last week, I tried re-introducing the potty again....with SUCCESS! Noah went pee pee on his Elmo potty Friday before his bath, Saturday before his bath, Sunday before his bath, last night before his bath, and 4 times today! HOORAY NOAH! We're still prompting him, but that's fine with me. At least it's a start. I sure would like for him to be done with potty training before our next little diaper-wearer arrives! Good job Noah!
